For a house extension to make economic sense, you ideally want your property's increase in value to be greater than the cost of the extension. This can be difficult to ascertain, but have a look at similar properties in your area and see what they have sold for.

With fewer houses on the market and the volatile nature of the housing market, more and more people are deciding to stay put and improve their exisitng home by adding space.

You may have the opportunity to extend to the rear, to the side, or single or double storey. Maybe a loft conversion is best for you or perhaps a conservatory or sun room. 

Either way, adding square footage to your home will not only add value to your house, it will certainly improve your quality of living. With so many of us now working from home, wehether full time or partially, maybe this the time for an office extension.
